Free Press Consumer group has won in count against VZW with the tethering apps. I wrote Free Press a email about VZW locking the bootloader on Android phones. They told me that only a few have reported to them about this. I asked if VZW consumers were to complain about locked phones, what would happen?
1. There would need to be enough complaints about this first. (if people complained about the tethering apps so can we)
2. You would need to email and/or write to them about why we want the phones unlocked.
3. It takes time, but this would help us with any new phone coming out to VZW.
4. Yes we have a case and if VZW keeps buying new C-block spectrum, it helps us with the FCC.
5. It would help if we have large groups behind us like XDA, Android Life, Droid Life, Android Police, ect ect ect.
So start writing and complaining about VZW locking our phones.........
